Donating to the Knoxville Habitat ReStore is a great way to give your gently used items a second life while helping local families achieve affordable homeownership. Your donations not only fund Knoxville Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building affordable homes for families in our community but also keep items out of landfills, promoting a greener and more sustainable Knoxville.

Here are answers to the questions we hear most.

What items does the ReStore accept as donations?

All items must be in good working condition, as we do not repair or restore items.

The following is a comprehensive list of items we DO accept:

  • Sets of cabinets
  • Furniture
  • Electric appliances (large and small)
  • Lawn equipment
  • Tools (power tools and hand tools)
  • Gently used clothing and accessories
  • Home décor
  • Collectibles
  • Household goods
  • Electronic equipment and televisions (less than 5 years old)
  • Window air conditioners
  • Kitchen and bathroom fixtures
  • Most doors and windows
  • Most light fixtures (no gold or brass)

*Please Note: Knoxville Habitat ReStore employees will have the final decision on items ability to be donated at time of donation.

When can I donate items to the Knoxville Habitat ReStore?

We appreciate and accept your donations during normal business hours.

  • 9am-5:30pm Tuesday-Friday
  • 9am-3:30pm Saturday

What items does the ReStore NOT accept as donations?

Thank you for reviewing these lists carefully to ensure you do not donate items that we cannot sell.

Appliances

  • Dishwashers of any kind
  • Gas appliances
  • Wall ovens
  • Non-working appliances
  • Anything older than 7 years
  • Anything with rust or mold

Bathroom Materials

  • Unframed glass or mirrors
  • Jacuzzi tubs
  • Cast iron tubs or sinks
  • Vanity tops without cabinets
  • Shower doors
  • Low sitting toilets

Furniture

  • Mattresses
  • Box Springs
  • Water beds
  • Sleeper sofas
  • Hospital beds
  • Press board/particle board furniture
  • Metal desks

Home Improvement

  • Paint
  • Window sashes
  • Sliding glass doors
  • Mini blinds and corded window blinds
  • Ceiling fans
  • Brass or gold-toned light fixtures

  • Items older than five (5) years

We make donating easy! If you have larger items, we’ll come to you. Simply schedule a free donation pickup online or by calling us at 865-690-4214.

You can also drop off your donations at our ReStore during business hours.
